I do live in Albuquerque, and its been a while since I hitchhiked, but I would say probably no on the I-25 thing. There are signs posted against picking up hitchhikers, and the people are mostly going 75mph. My suggestion? There is a truck stop along I-25 in mid-Albuquerque. I forget which one, but it is right off the freeway, just north of downtown. If you go north on Frontage (the road that parallels I-25 on both sides) you can walk (or hitch) without much danger and perhaps catch some cats at the truckstop going your way. I am leaving on the 23rd, or I would offer you a ride.

Me and my old man are hitching from Phoenix to the gather.
We are pretty worried about hitching in this high summer heat.

And getting from Albq to the gather or even to Cuba !

So more hitching advice is great.

We are trying to get to gather for seed camp or for gather and clean up.

We're hitching cause we are broke & on the road
and we like hitching,
but we don't want to die in the desert !
