Re: Recent VIDEO report from NM site
Sun, June 28, 2009 - 8:54 PMit boils down to LEOs being threatened/weirded out by the liberty and free-er expression .....
common sense, I guess but .. -

Re: Recent VIDEO report from NM site
Mon, June 29, 2009 - 11:06 AMFrom what I read in updates a week or so ago the reasons were different. Seems the "special field guys" that were sent to the gathering from where ever were acting like storm troopers. Local forest service guys and local LE are decent people. There also happened to be an attempt at good relations by some higher up FS guys not out on the field. When the higher up FS guys got wind that their attempts of good relations were being sabotaged by the imported (non local) FS nazi shock troops they attempted to keep their dogs in line. The end result was the nazi shock troops toneing down their behavior to be less nazi.
There seems to be a genuine effort and genuine struggle within the FS to not act like a bunch of nazis. I hope this effort is maintained and results in genuine change in the overall behavior of the FS towards us rainbows.
Seems a touch naive (no offense intended) to assume that the field shock troop LEOs would have their black hearts "changed" by observing liberty/free expression. Much like the civil rights struggle of the 50's. The higher ups (supreme court) might decide on decency but the dogs on the ground take a long time to stop being well.... dogs. Just my 2 cents though, nothing more and no insult intended towards anybody except LEOs that act like dogs.

Re: Recent VIDEO report from NM site
Fri, July 3, 2009 - 2:52 PMYep - looks pretty standard so far. This would have been homecoming #6 for me this year, but a severe knee injury kept me from my family in my favorite state this year. I'm bummed, but I'm already feeling the positive vibes from thousands of miles away as my brothers and sisters prepare for the sacred circle. Loving you all! Sending out protective prayers especially to the kids. I was there with my son in Kid Village last year. OM -

Re: Recent VIDEO report from NM site
Wed, July 8, 2009 - 7:47 AMHeh, the jist of the "day in court" was thus: many citations were thrown out and even one fellow, Red from Parking, had a felony fireworks charge. When the judge told him "8 days community service at the Annual Rainbow gathering Cleanup" the LEO looked at each other in dismay as they knew they weren't getting to target us without oversight or support from the local courts.
Altogether, unless you were TRYING to get busted, they stayed out of the way. Even a high-ranking LEO CAUGHT red-handed a couple friends doing something illegal in this state and just confiscated the stuff.
